Nature’s Tie-Dye: A Foraging & Dye Workshop

Description

Join Pallavi Sarup from the Hamesha Project for a hands-on, family-friendly workshop where kids (ages 10 and up) and parents alike explore the magic of natural dyes, local flora, and traditional South Asian tie-dye techniques! Start by foraging for local California dye plants. Learn how to transform leaves, flowers, and roots into vibrant colors. Then dive into Bandhani, an ancient Indian resist-dyeing technique, to create a beautiful set of hand-dyed tea towels.

This is the perfect opportunity to connect with nature, learn a new craft, and create a heartfelt, handmade gift—just in time for Mother’s Day! No prior experience is needed, just a sense of adventure and a love for color.

Class takes place at the Outdoor Picnic Shelter near the Education Garden. Please park in the Main Parking Lot and walk to Outdoor Picnic Shelter.
