Jordan grew up in Ossining New York, 30 miles north of New York City. Jordan worked at Hidden Villa for almost four years from June 2017 to March 2021 as a Youth Development intern, teacher, and member of the summer camp leadership team. He then traveled home to New York to apprentice on a farm outside of Albany for a season. There, he helped the farm process 3,000 meat chickens and took care of their flock of 300 laying hens and 30 pigs. Additionally, the farm had a 120-member CSA. He would spend the morning doing animal chores and the rest of the day helping the vegetable manager with the products from the CSA. Jordan was drawn back to Hidden Villa after working a few jobs away from agriculture. He wanted to return to his passion in a place that was familiar. He was also interested in learning from Virginia and Austen. Jordan’s favorite activity at Hidden Villa is letting the sheep out on pasture. They are always excited to get some fresh grass. Jordan’s favorite mission-related book is The Lorax.
