Jill’s family relocated to California in time for her to begin primary school in the Bay Area and she has called the south bay home ever since. After graduating from UCSC where she earned a degree in Community Studies with an emphasis on fair housing and political economy, she began a career in the non-profit sector. One of her favorite jobs was working as Hidden Villa’s Camp Director in the early 2000’s where she had the opportunity to explore some of the issues she cares about most – youth development, the natural environment and healthy food systems. She also worked for Heifer International and held executive leadership and program management positions that emphasized program delivery, design, and evaluation as well as donor relationships and fundraising. Jill volunteers for the American Camp Association as a Standards Visitor and for state and regional park systems as a trail patrol volunteer. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, cooking fresh food, and training for and competing in equestrian endurance riding events. Her current favorite mission related book is The Nature Principle by Richard Louv.
