Youth Development

Hidden Villa’s Youth Development programs inspire young leaders to become agents of change by encouraging respect, empathy, stewardship, critical-thinking, and community engagement. Our group programs are an opportunity to engage your class or youth group in hands-on, experiential learning across our farm and wilderness areas on topics related to Outdoor Education and Job Training/Skill Building.

Last year, 910 students participated in Job Training & Skill Building programs while 750 students participated in Outdoor Education programs. These students came from 37 local school & youth organizations.

Some of our favorite appreciations

I only did an hour of work that day (Cesar Chavez Living History Day), while normal farmers would work many hours a day, every day. This taught me to be more grateful.

Hidden Villa is a cornerstone of our programming and a social and educational culmination of our students’ year. The opportunity to explore and interact with nature and agriculture, while engaging in critical pedagogy relevant to their generation’s needs and interests is a priceless component of our programming.
