Service Learning
Learn by doing! Volunteers literally keep Hidden Villa operating; last year, close to 1,200 volunteers (many of whom were on corporate outings) contributed nearly 15,000 hours of service. Service learning projects are available year-round and include:
- Organic Farming
Help cultivate vibrant rows of tomatoes, broccoli, peppers, kale, carrots, corn, lettuce, melon, and squash and leave with a tangible sense of your team’s accomplishment. Typical activities include weeding, planting, and harvesting. - Horticulture and Landscaping
Hidden Villa’s farm and wilderness area is a cherished community resource. Learn to care for native plant gardens while you plant, prune, weed, irrigate, and mulch.
For groups of size 8+ people, we encourage a donation ranging from $1,000 – $3,500, which supports volunteer project management and underwrites our educational programs. Projects with more than 50 people are possible and require more detailed planning.
It felt good to do something tangible to make a difference. I was able to work and play alongside people with whom I don’t ordinarily work. It was such a wonderful and unique experience. The most enjoyable volunteer experience that we’ve had.”
