Farm Tour - Preschool to 1st Grade

Awaken your senses with a hands-on exploration of our working farm!  Students meet farm animals face to face and experience the colors, scents and tastes of the organic Education Garden.  Whether sinking fingers into a sheep’s wool “sweater,” feeling the warmth of a freshly laid egg, or crunching into a root just pulled from the ground, students begin to appreciate the importance of the farm and garden in their daily lives.

Program Capacity
We can accommodate 64 students or a maximum of 82 people total. If you have a group that varies slightly from these numbers, please CONTACT US. We will divide the students into small groups of 10-15 students to explore the farm. Groups for exceeding these maximum limits may need to visit Hidden Villa on multiple days or register for both the 9:15am and 11:00am tours on a particular date.

Fees
$10/person September - November

$8/person December - February
$11/person March - June

This program is priced per participant. The number of adults you register should include all the adults (including teachers) that plan on accompanying the trip. For every 15 children, you will be given a credit for 1 free adult on your invoice. For example, a group of 60 students will include a credit for 4 free adults on the invoice. We discourage bringing siblings. If it is necessary for them to come, they are considered a paying participant if they are over 18 months old.

Farm Discovery with NGSS - Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Bring your students for a hands-on experience that will enrich their learning and activate their curiosity for both science and environmental literacy. Using our farm, animals, and environment, we will engage students in the NGSS concepts found in Life Science 1 (LS1-1) appropriate to their grade level.

As students explore the garden and farm they will look for patterns of what plants and animals need to survive. They will discover many examples of how plants and animals use their external parts to help them get their needs met and grow. Bringing students to this program will give your students discovery experiences that you can draw on to teach back in the classroom.
